About the Role
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support a federal Indian Health Service (IHS) outpatient facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This role focuses on safe medication dispensing, clinical review, and patient counseling in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment serving Tribal communities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Review and dispense prescriptions with accuracy and safety
- Conduct medication therapy review and drug interaction screening
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, storage, and precautions
- Consult with prescribers regarding discrepancies or therapeutic concerns
- Monitor inventory, medication storage, and drug integrity
- Document all care and counseling in the electronic health record
- Support outpatient and inpatient pharmacy operations
- Work with diverse and multicultural patient populations, including use of interpreters as needed
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS or PharmD)
Active, unrestricted pharmacist license (any U.S. state accepted)
BLS certification
Ability to pass: Federal Background Investigation & Fingerprinting
Comfortable working in a federal healthcare setting
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs occasionally
